green credentials ....

Sorry sorry sorry, hang head in shame, my green credentials are blown asunder by the purchase of a van to help me get from my home to my plot.  It is a revelation to me!  I haven't owned a car for about 30 years, and had forgotten all about driving in a box.  So .......... really weird to being with BUT it is being very helpful and does mean that I can deliver further afield, and most importantly that my flowers are safe and sheltered within.   Pic of le van blanc to come soon.

British Flower week

This coming week has been designated as one in which to celebrate British flowers!  Hoorah!  Dance a jig and check out the link while you are at it .....

Salix caprea looking glossy and glassy in the icy conditions of late March.

march vagaries

Two days of heaven warmth, and now its soooooooo gloomy out there I DO not want to go out.  No photo can do the looming loomingness of it justice.  SO just to cheer you up and just in case you didn't see this in the cut flower section ...... I shall VERY VERY soon have greetings cards, and postcards, of my own photographs that you can add to your flowers if they are a gift.  Or you could just buy them anyway.  I don't mind!  Prices will be from £2.50 to £3.50 according to the sort of card it is.  They even come with an envelope you lucky things you.

endearing snowdrops

Freezing cold and utterly unpleasant outside BUT these little beauties always help bring a cheery smile to those who pass down my garden path.  Along with another sign that warmer weather is creeping closer which is the chirpy dotty blackbird song increasing in volume and quantity and which always gladdens the heart.

2013 new year burgeonings

A very Happy New Year to anyone out there who might be reading this!  Hmmmmm here's hoping for a rather less excessively wet year. Cambridge, one of the driest places in England YET I barely had to water all year. Unheard of.  Anyway, and otherwise, been a bit off piste these last few months on account of a broken hip.  All my bulbs had just been ordered, when wollop down I slipped ...... exit old hip enter new hip. Hence a bossy moi imperially waving a crutch around while the wonderful planting support team of family and friends set to and helped get  ALL 2,000 odd in.  The hip is all fine now and ready for action!
